For a long time, Diosca just couldn't settle. It was probably due to the mixture of adrenaline rushing through her, her over-dose on cookies and the excitement about the rainbow, but she just couldn't fall asleep.

(OOC: I’m going to be god-modding a tiny bit, hope you guys don’t mind! But we need to hurry up and make it morning or we won’t finish this in time. :3)
The moon rested beside the ever glowing rainbow of colors that shot across the sky. It watched over the pups as they slept at the base of the low rocky mountains, right beside the golden path that sparkled mysteriously. It was long passed sundown when Chaeser finally caught a large, scruffy jackrabbit. That and the three mice the snakes had saved for the pups was their dinner. They ate quietly, discussing their day with low whispers and tired yawns. It had been an exciting adventure, and they could tell by how close the rainbow had become that they were almost at the end. What would lie at its tail? That is what they had wondered since Misty and Patrick first laid eyes on the colorful ribbon, and they still were eager to know.
After dinner Misty and Patrick curled up against Chaeser’s warm fur. He was a big wolf to them, and his thick coat helped them keep warm from the frost that had formed on the ground from the light snowfall earlier. Misty had a little trouble falling asleep at first, because it didn’t seem that dark with the soft glow of the path and the rainbow, as well as the chilly breeze and the fact that she wasn’t in a nice, warm wolf den curled up next to her Amma. Chaeser would have to suffice, though, and she buried her cold little nose into his chocolate coat with a whimsical smile. “Night everybody.” She whispered, and eventually her breathing slowed and her eyes drifted closed.
It seemed only a few minutes before she felt a little tickly on her shoulder. “Hey, wake up pupsss!” A little hiss announced. It was Jeff, and he had always been a morning snake. Misty opened her eyes to see the little black dots that were Jeff’s eyes, they were peering at her with an excited twinkle. Misty blinked once and looked around, not quite sure where she was or what was going on, that is, until she saw the rainbow in the sky.
As if cold water was poured on her, she sat up in a flash, scaring Patrick awake with her excited yip. She didn’t even yawn. “Woohoo! C’mon guys, wake up! Wakey wakey! We need to reach the end! The rainbow is still here! We-“ Her chatter was interrupted by a large tawny paw pushing her head down.
“Five more minutes mom…” Chaeser mumbled, smacking his maw tiredly.
Misty giggled, pushing Chaeser’s paw off her nose. She jumped onto Chaeser’s back and squeaked in his ear. “CHEEEEESE!”
“WHAT? Where!?” The wolf shot up, scaring Patrick again—who also wasn’t much of a morning pup—and looking around with wide, chocolate eyes. Misty giggled, and upon seeing the puppy laughing, Chaeser frowned at her. “Hey!”
Patrick, now awake from both scares, got up with a yawn and looked around. “Well, looks like everything is in order! We should eat something before we set off!”
Jack slithered out of Misty’s little bag with a tired nod. “Agreed. There are ssstil sssome ssnacksss in here, I believe.” He hissed, turning back around to search the bag. He came out not minutes later, dragging a few cookies and sandwiches behind him.
“Oh, I had forgotten about the sandwiches!” Misty yipped, sniffing them.
“No cheese?” Chaeser said, searching the little bag.
Misty nodded. “I think there is some in the sandwi-“
She couldn’t finish, as Chaeser had already taken apart one, and was eating the yellow cheddar with a very satisfied grin. Patrick and Misty giggled, and they both took their portion of the food.

Sammy got down from her branch and slithered down to see if Eileen was still asleep. "Eileen!" Sammy said with a grin.
"Sammy...I still need to shed my morning fur. And stop hissing in my ear, it tickles." Eileen mumbled, half asleep and half awake.
"Ssstaying in bed makessss the sssmell even worssse," Sammy hissed, holding her nose with her tail. "and we need to get to the rainbow! Besssidesss, everyone isss awake except for you." Sammy giggled, wrapping herself loosely around Eileen's body.
"Fine...Ack! Sammy, that tickles!" Eileen said laughing as she attempted to kick Sammy off.
Sammy giggled as she slithered off her body. "Ssshhhall we ssstart, then? We need to climb the landssslide that fell yesssterday, remember?"
Eileen frowned. "Yeah, I remember. Let's go then--Oh, good morning!" she said as she waved to Jeff who had just passed by them.
"Hello, Jeff!" Sammy grinned. She started towards the pups to eat breakfast as Eileen followed.

OOC-Yaaayy it’s morning time!!! :3
Lynn was awoken by the high pitched yaps of some of the pups as they got ready to start another day. He sat up and opened his jaws into a humongous yawn, then giving his ears a good scratch, he shot a glance over to the bramble thicket once again. It didn’t look as threatening in the warm daylight sun, but he was still set on checking it out, just in case. I have to see what it is before we get moving again… he thought. Looking around quickly, he spotted Misty and friends bounding around excitedly close by, while Chaeser was eating some sort of cheese. As quiet as a mouse, Lynn quickly prowled around a few sharp-peaked boulders, jutting out of the mountain side like teeth or claws, into shadows of the copse of trees. Once he was alone, Lynn quietly doubled back to the far side of the bramble thicket, where the others wouldn't spot him. He began wiggling through the branches, wincing as thorns scraped his fur. He was so concentrated on wiggling that he suddenly slipped and felt himself falling. "Ahhhh! Help me!!" he wailed as he fell deeper into the blackness.
Without warning, he landed with a thud onto solid ground. Slowly the pup pushed himself to his paws and blinked once or twice at his surroundings. He gasped at what he saw. Lynn was standing in a warmly lit cave, the ceiling only a few inches from his head. There was a tiny bed in the middle of the cave, as well as a pot bellied stove in a corner. Standing in the middle of the floor was a tiny creature, about the size of a melon. The little fellow was still in his PJ's with a toothbrush in his mouth, looking quite baffled. "Who in 'da where... What'er you doin' in me cave sonny?!" he stammered marching angrily over to the pup. "Don't you know how to stay off people's property hmmm? You best hope that you didn't ruin my game trap!" He stood nose to nose with Lynn and pointed to the tendril, leading up out of the cave into the tunnel. The creature looked as though he was going to whack the pup on the head. "What?! No, no! I'm so sorry mister!" Lynn exclaimed, quite embarrassed. "My name is Lynn, and well, me and a group of friends are on a great journey, to see what's at the end of the St. Patrick's day rainbow!" his words came out in a rush, afraid the critter was going to lose his temper. Slowly the fellow’s expression changed to a mischievousness grin and he backed away a few paces. "The St. Pattie's day rainbow ya say? Well mah stars I haven't seen one of those in ages! I remember when I was just a young lil' house elf and I traveled to the end. Ya see here I-" Lynn cut him off right there. "Wait a second.... you've been to the end of the rainbow?" The so-called "elf" nodded proudly and waved his toothbrush in the air. "Yess sirree-bob I did! It wasn't easy, but I found a little shortcut, you won't believe. Oh, the riches untold. So many wonderful sweet sensations, woowee!" he sighed dreamily as he recalled his story. "Wow..... that's amazing! Say, what's your name?" Lynn asked. "The name's Mcgrymer sonny, the one and only." Lynn stared at the elf, quite mystified. "Cool name! Hey... wait a second..... I think maybe you could help us! Do you think you could tell me and my friends about this.... shortcut? We've traveled an awful long way already." Lynn pleaded, giving the Mcgrymer the puppy eyes. "Well, I haven't been out of my cave in a long while, but I guess I could use some fresh air…." The elf decided slowly, giving Lynn a wink. "Oh thank you thank you!" Lynn bounced about joyously. "Let's go then!" Like a flash Lynn scrambled back up the dark tunnel where he had fallen, with Mcgrymer close behind. Wiggling his way out of the bramble thicket, the two of them raced over to the rocky clearing, where more pups were beginning to wake up. "Misty! Chaeser! Patrick! You'll never guess what! I met someone in the woods who has been to the end of the rainbow!" Lynn exclaimed, running up to them.

Eileen was happily eating the meat chaeser hunted down while Sammy was eating a mouse instead. They were talking about how they wished there was some water, and about Irish tales and legends that spoke of the rainbow. Just as Sammy had finished her meal (She had a big stomache, and ate her food quickly) she saw Lynn in the distance, panting as she raced to the pups.
"Lynn! Where have you been?" Sammy hissed, raising her head to full height.
"Misty! Chaeser! Patrick! You'll never guess what! I met someone in the woods who has been to the end of the rainbow!" he yipped, running up to them.
"Really? Who? What's at the end of the rainbow? Actually, don't tell me, I want to see for myself!" Eileen barked with a little bit of meat she was chewing still in her mouth. She stood up and did something like the jig excitedly.
"Who?" Sammy grinned, her beady black eyes were fixed on the pup. She danced along with Eileen, but she was more like her ribbon than a seperate dancer.

"Really Lynn? That's awesome!" Diosca barked, dancing around in a circle, barking. "Where is he?" Then she caught sight of the small creature behind Lynn, who was blinking in the sunlight. The creature was quite small, with large, protruding ears and wide eyes. "Umm... hi!" She gave the odd creature a puppy grin. "What's your name?" "Mcgrymer," the creature replied in gruff tones. "And you've seen the end of the rainbow?" Diosca asked with wide eyes. "Yes sirreee!" Diosca bounced around in excitement. "What's at the end? Can you tell us, pleasepleasepleasepleaseplease pleaaaasseeee?" Mcgrymer shook his head, a mischevious grin on his face. "I think you'll have to find out that one for yourself."

River was up and ready to go. "Really Lynn?, That wonderful!" River barked. River heard what Diosca has saying and talking to. He also heard what "Mcgrymer" had said as well.
River head in the direction he was head the night before. He went about climbing the mountain to the top. As he reached the top he gave a happy loud bark. He barked to get their attention all the pups "Patrick, Misty, Lynn, Shep, Eileen, Diosca and many of the others." River looked around and saw what was laying in front of him. He saw the end of the rainbow but he was really excited about what he saw. He seem surprised to see what was at the end of the rainbow.
River just looked at it and saw where the end of the rainbow as at it was in a pool with a waterfall at the top. He sure hoped was was seeing things. "Mcgrymer, is this the amazing view or the chest of gold in the pool with the waterfall?" asked River. If he was not dreaming or seeing thing this was something he could not have missed.

Eileen glomped Diosca. "No! Don't ask him that! I want to leave the end as a surprise." but then Eileen had a thought. "Hey, what if there are different things at the end of the rainbow to each who discover it? You'll never know." She got up off of Diosca and went in a sort of play bow pose, smiling at her. The small creature looked at Diosca with a mischevious grin.
"I think you'll have to find out that one for yourself." he said with a wink.
Sammy slithered up to McGrymer, camouflaging with the grass. "Interesssting creature you are, dwarf." she hissed. The elf turned red in his face, and Sammy backed off a bit.
Eileen giggled. "That's not a dwarf, Sammy! It's an elf...fairy...thing." her face turned blank, and her ear twitched.
"What do I look like?!" McGrymer snapped, quite annoyed.
They both flinched. "W--well if you aren't a dwarf, are you a Leprechaun? What are you?" Sammy said, not liking the creature's bad temper.
"Certainly not!" he yelled, not caring to tell them. He wouldn't have minded telling them, but he thought they might say other silly comments which he was tired of them telling him.
"Patrick, Misty, Lynn, Shep, Eileen, Diosca and everyone else!" River barked. He was almost at the top of the rocks, and from the distance he could see what was at the end, unless he was seeing things because of the excitement taken place.
"Oh boy! Oh boy! Oh boy!" Eileen yipped with excitement, she danced in circles, dragging Diosca, Lynn and Sammy in to dance with her. "We're almost at the end, we're almost at the end!" Eileen yipped.
"My my, Eileen! I haven't ssseen you thisss excited ever sssince you caught your firssst moussse when we were visiting Chaessser's den." Sammy laughed. Eileen just continued to dance.
"Those were good times, too!" she giggled.

Shep, a very deep sleeper, had ignored Misty's excited shrieks for everyone to get up and remained in his impenetrable slumber. However, hearing Eileen's outburst, he snapped up and nearly fell onto his face as he lost his balance. "Where?! Where!" Shep cried, stumbling forward.
Bianca, who had too been asleep curled up in Shep's fur, was rudely awakened as she fell off his back. "Sssshep!" Bianca hissed, disdainfully flicking her tongue as she struggled to right herself. Then, hearing the puppies, she asked, "What'sss thiss? Are we at the end?"

"River saysss he thinksss we are, ssso we should be!" Sammy hissed excitedly.
"We need to see what's over there!" Eileen said, and she suddenly stopped dancing which made everyone fall over as she let go of their paws. She then started climbing the rocks, as she did yesterday.
Sammy followed. "I want to sssee what'sss at the end, if we really are there!" She hissed, and slithered up the stone.

After everyone had been introduced to McGrymer, Lynn turned to him. "So what's this shortcut you were talking about?" he asked the elf excitedly. "Do you think you could show it to us?" "Well a' course I can! I wouldn't be here if I could!" Mcgrymer huffed, heaving himself onto a bumpy rock. "Ok, listen up ya'll, now I all know you were hopin' to get to the rainbow on foot, but I'm here to tell ya'll that that's never gonna happen." Mcgrymer announced, quiet bluntly. "Ya'll have over 500 miles to go yet, and that rainbow don't last forever. I got lucky when I was a youngin', because, just like you kids, I was heading up this particular mountain range, and it's were I found the answers to all me problems." Scanning the mountain peaks, Mgrymer pointed with his finger to the top, where a few puffy clouds covered the rainbow and made it disappear from view. "Ya see those puffy lookin' clouds up there? Well if ya look mighty hard you'll see that they're not the usual clouds that circle them mountains. That's because they are a special kind of cloud that only appear when a Saint Pattie's rainbow runs right through the regular mountain clouds, rubbin' some of it's magic dust into them. That's why these kinda special clouds only appear 'round mountains, 'cus they gotta be real high up to reach the rainbow. Now, what do ya'll notice about the those clouds around the rainbow? What makes 'em look different?" he asked around, looking over each pup with a hard stare.

"Now, what do ya'll notice about the those clouds around the rainbow? What makes 'em look different?" Mcgrymer asked around, looking over each pup with a hard stare. Diosca looked hard. "They look more.... solid. Like they aren't just water vapour but actual solid things that you could touch!" she said slowly, looking at McGrymer to see if she was right. She gave her another grin, but said nothing. "Wait... could we ride the clouds to the end of the rainbow?" she asked with a gasp.

"Yes siree-bob you can!" Mcgymer nodding in satisfaction. "Ya see, the magic of the rainbow alters any normal thing it touches. Just like them clouds up there, they're now solid as a rock." Mcgrymer leaned down to pat the rough surface of the rock he was standing on. "And if you look even harder, you'll notice a little sparkle around 'em, makin' them look extra magical. Now what you're gonna wanna do is climb in the direction of that highest peak over dare, where the rainbow goin' though those sparkly clouds. When you get high enough, you're gonna have to leap onto the clouds, because they're still floating in midair." The elf took a flying leap onto Lynn's back. "Ahhh what? Where?!" Lynn reared up onto his hind legs in panic and started galloping around like a wild animal. "Now to get the cloud to move, 'ur gonna have ta' steer it, kinda like a magic carpet!" Mcgrymer yowled over Lynn's rampage. "You grab a tuft of cloud and move it around in the direction you wanna go, like a joystick." He grabbed Lynn's ears, and yanked it to the left, making Lynn veer to the left to avoid a gorse bush. "If you want it to go faster, all you pups gotta go to the front of the cloud. If you wan' it ta go slow or stop ya'll gotta go to the back of the cloud!" Lynn pulled back on Lynn's ears, making the pup rear again and come to a complete stop. "Uhh... sorry..." Lynn grumbled, embarrassed. Mrgrymer slid down the pup's back onto both feet. "Ya'll got that?" he asked around, to make sure everyone had heard.

"Yes Mr. Mcgrymer sir!" Arietty saluted then fell over in giggles at Lynn and Mcgrymer's cloud steering, stopping and accelerating before putting on a serious face and said "C'mon guys, lets get moving or we won't make it before we have to go home!" she started to pad away before stopping and asking the little elf "Are you going to come with us?"

"Got it!" barked Diosca happily. "Come on guys, let's get to the top of the mountain as fast as we can!" Without waiting for a reply, Diosca began to race up the mountain, revelling in the feel of the chilled air brushing through her coat. After a bit she began to slow down, tired. Dismayed, she realised she wasn't that far up the mountain at all! "It's a lot bigger than it looks," she grumbled, stopping for a bit to catch her breath and wait for the others.

"Uh...Yeah?" Eileen grinned. "Hey Sammy," she said in whispers, grabbing her neck and pulling it towards her. "what did he just say?"
"Um...I think he sssaid the clouds were sssolid, ssso you could ride them. And then he sssaid sssomething about joyful sssticksss, and...er...That'sss all I got from him." Sammy whispered, a little embarrassed.
"Joyful sticks? Huh." Eileen questioned, this time a little louder. She knew nothing about air crafts. "Let's just watch what the other's do, ok?"
"Good idea." Sammy said with a little chuckle. And with that she, for the third time, started climbing the mountain, since she was now sure that there would be no interruptions like last time.

"Naw, this is 'ur journey. I had mah fun long ago..." Mcgrymer answered without hesitation. "But before ya go, I must warn ya'll to not go jumpin' on clouds that aren't solid. Make sure you know that they've been altered before ya get on 'em, or you'll fall right through em!" the elf laughed a deep laugh. "I best be goin' then. Good luck ya'll!" he called behind his shoulder while loping back toward the bramble thicket "Thank you so much Mcgrymer!" Lynn yowled over to him gratefully. "Mah pleasure Lynn! ...Oh mah stars I almost forgot!!!" Mcgrymer gasped, "While 'ur headin' up the mountain, stay alert and be careful! Cockatrices roam this land!" and with that, the elf vanished out of sight into the bushes. "Wha- a cockatrice?" Lynn looked quiet baffled, picturing the terrifying creature, with the head of a chicken, and the body of a cobra. Lynn shuddered at the thought. Let's hope we don't run into one of those.... "Alright everyone, let's get a move on!" Lynn yipped turning to the north, and heading up the slope. OOC-woot woot MLP reference FTW!!! "Ok, River!" Eileen yipped, panting as she continued to climb. Then at that mmoment she saw Mcgrymer leaving. "Huh? You're leaving now?"
"This is 'ur journey, I had mah fun long ago..." He said with a deep voice. "But before ya go, I must warn ya'll to not go jumpin' on clouds that aren't solid. Make sure you know that they've been altered before ya get on 'em, or you'll fall right through em!" He laughed deeply, but Eileen didn't really get why. She didn't like the thought of falling.
"Oh, that'sss too bad. Bye, then!" Sammy Hissed, waving her tail (For it was the only thing she had).
"Bye!" Eileen yipped. "Thanks for the help." But just when she thought the elf was going to leave, it stopped and turned around to face them.
"Oh mah stars I almost forgot!!" he gasped. "While 'ur headin' up the mountain, stay alert and be careful! Cockatrices roam this land!" and then he dissapeared in the bushes.
"Cockatricesss?" Sammy laughed, not taking the warning very seriously. "What a funny name!"
"Sammy, you don't even know how dangerous they really are and your laughing at them?!" Eileen gasped, and then continued in a mumble. "Tipical Sam."
"I can't help it, the name sssounds ssso funny." she giggled, resting for a bit on a ledge. Eileen rolled her eyes, and continued climbing.

Lynn glanced over his shoulder when he heard Sammy laugh. "Ya' won't be laughing when it turns you into stone." he retorted, but with a glimmer of amusement in his eyes. "Let's just say that you can't beat a cockatrice in a staring competition, and if you try you're gambling your life. Nasty little creature they are...." he grumbled, as he continued bounding up the slope, keeping him eyes open and alert for any signs of something lurking in the clumps of bush and mountain bracken that lined the stony slope, which seemed to get steeper by the minute. Diosca was right, it is a lot bigger than I thought. he said to himself, panting.

Diosca saw Lynn, and doubled back to walk with him. "When we get back," Diosca panted, "I really need to cut down on the cookies... I'm so... unfit..." She looked behind her and could see the others, quite far down. "I think no-one should get on any of the clouds until we're all together, just in case. And we should probably have two to a cloud, to make it easier to control!" she thought out loud.
