St.Patrick's Day Event~ Gold Rush RPG

[Lizy]

"I-I don't know..." she said, "It's a weird smell, I never smelled it before. Maybe it is the rainbow? Do they smell?"
Chewwy sniffed again.
She began to become really curious.

[DarkTamara]

"I don't smell anything," Kaegan started to say, coming to a halt and sniffing the air, but cut off midsentence and wrinkled his nose. "Yuck!" He looked down at everyone's gold-paint-covered paws, then lifted his own to his face to smell. "Is it the paint?"

[Brownie]

"Look," Sammy said as she stared at the ground. "It'sss a pathway!" Eileen also looked at the ground. "It tickles my belly!" She said as she slithered across it. Eileen giggled and said to Sam, "Many things tickle your—Why, it is a pathway! That's so strange." "Let'sss tell the othersss!" Said Sam as she continued to slither across the pathway.

Sammy had suddenly bumped into Diosco, but she was too excited to say sorry. "Fluffy fellowsss, hi!" Sammy greeted the pups. "Me and Eileen were—" But Eileen had interrupted. "Me and Sammy were catching up to you, when we saw this sparkly golden pathway that was leading to the end of the rainbow! And then—and then we followed it, but as Sammy went across the pathway she laughed because it tickled her belly—and—and—" But Eileen was talking so fast that not everyone could understand her. "And now we're here!" Said Sammy, a little annoyed that Eileen had cut her off. "Yeah, what she said! Did you notice it too?" Yipped Eileen.

[Horsie]

"Yes, nearly everyone's here now!" Diosca began to quickly fill in Eileen Sammy, Sammy, Kaegan and Arietty on what they knew so far; that the path disappears when they walk on it, it tastes of sugar cookies but makes you feel weird if you eat too much, and that it probably was leading them to the rainbow. "...So that's why we have to round everyone up quickly! Any ideas?" Diosca finished.

[Marsh]

"Ahh! I'm not too keen on sugar cookies anyway but if it leads to the rainbow I'm willing to try it!" she said joyfully

[Lizy]

Chewwy was still snifing.
"Really guys...? Why can't you smell it. I am sure it is the rainbow."
She looked up to Diosca, "Sugar cookies are good, I like them a lot"
And she did a happy dance.

[slumpylumpy]

Lady warned everyone about the path. "It tastes so good.. But if you eat it, you feel so sick and go dizzy and and" She shook her head "Brrgh.. Just try not to be tempted to eat it. Even if it does taste of sugar.. Cookies..." She said licking her chops.
She sniffed the air again. "Wait, Chewwy! I can smell it.. Well, something. I've never smelt something like it before! It smells like strawberries, oranges, bananas, apples, blueberries; all mixed together! Hey, they are all different colors! Maybe your right, maybe it is the rainbow! Should we follow the smell? Or stick to the path?" Lady said, sniffing the air with great delight.

[Lizy]

"Okay , Lady, I won't eat them," Chewwy said sadly, "But the smell yes. I want to follow the smell." She Jumped ip and down. "Please...Pretty Pretty Please with a cherry one top?"
She pulled her sweetest face, waiting for the reactions the other pups would give.

[Horsie]

Diosca sniffed in deeply. "It's like a tropical fruit smoothie! Mmm..."
Then she blinked. "Wait, that's it, if we follow our noses instead of the path we won't be tempted to eat it and we won't have to wait for all the others!"

[slumpylumpy]

Lady wagged her tail excitedly. "Yes, I want to follow the smell too!" She barked. "That way I won't be tempted to eat the path again.." There was a pause as Lady shuddered. "Anyway, what do you guys think? Should we follow the smell?" She sniffed in the fruity odor.

[Shinki]

(OOC: Just as a note everyone...just because some of us don't post right away doesn't mean our pups are not following the others. Many of us have busy lives and can't post as often as we would like, so sometimes we just need to patiently wait on each other's posts. That said, I'll be posting as soon as I get the chance.)

"Let's go guys!"

Diosca, nose in the air, began to walk, following the scent. "I wonder what's going to be at the end of the rainbow..." she thought out loud. "Maybe it'll be cookies. Or maybe some puppies that we could make friends with!" Then she gasped. "What if there were RAINBOW puppies at the end of the rainbow, with RAINBOW COOKIES?!"

[Marsh]

"OMC OMC OMC! Rainbow puppies and cookies.. Rainbow puppies and cookies!" she yapped excitedly

[Lizy]

Chewwy listened to Diosca, "Omycookie, yes please I want rainbow friends and rainbow cookies"
She started to run after the smell. Half way she turned around and waited for the others.
She got totally over excited by the smell.

[slumpylumpy]

Lady bounded behind them. "OMC!" She yipped excitedly. "Just imagine rainbow puppies..all sparkling and beautiful! I bet they would be so so kind too! :3 And COOKIES!" She licked her lips as she pictured a mountain of rainbow cookies under the rainbow, being served on a glimmering gold paint by rainbow pups. "I can't wait!" Lady said, following the fruity scent. "Why is the scent fruity?" She wondered. "Maybe there are fruity cookies underneath the rainbow! In all different colors.." Lady bounced up and down as she walked through the meadows with her friends.

[ZeldaWolf]

Lynn, who had caught up with the group earlier, padded along side the other pups through a grassy meadow lined with dense ferns. Looking up at the sky, he saw the rainbow there as always, shining it's colors down on the forest. This is so exciting! I can't wait to see what's on the other end! I hope it's cookies..... Suddenly, as he was day-dreaming to himself, a startling idea popped into Lynn's brain.
"Um... guys? When we find the end of the rainbow.... we might want to be careful with what we find there. I've read a lot of books about rainbows and pots of gold, but there is always someone else in the story who wants that treasure even more than we do. What if we run into a horde of lepreacauns or trolls or something?" The pup whispered as he looked all around the meadow, furrowing his brow worriedly.

[slumpylumpy]

"T-trolls?" Lady whimpered. "Don't they live under bridges? And Leprechauns.. do they live by wishing wells?" She looked around frantically to spot any of the things she mentioned.
"Wait.. what if when we got to the end of the rainbow, someone lived there? We couldn't take or eat their home or property." She said reluctantly, thinking yet again about the pile of rainbow cookies.

[Lizy]

Chewwy joined in, getting scared.
'Isn't there some mean Irish gnome getting mad at us and then eating us because we tried to steal his treasure?"
She wanted to run back and jumped into Lady.
Chewwy apologized and sat down.
"I am so scared now," she said. "What do we do now?"

[slumpylumpy]

Lady tumbled over. "It's okay" She replied to Chewwy. "I'm not sure.. we don't want to anger anyone." She said in deep thought.

[TLOSpyrogirl]

Shep, with Bianca on his back wrapped around his neck, came bounding across the meadow faster than he had ever run before. He seemed merely a black and white blur flying towards the large group of pups. Normally Shep would have easily skidded to a stop, however, seeing the golden trail he was so surprised that he tripped. Luckily Bianca fell off Shep and landed near the other pups, dazed but unharmed, while Shep rolled quite comically over the ground and right into the trail. Confused, he stumbled to his feet, his fur coated in the golden paint.

"Wha-wha...?" Shep asked. Shaking his head, he stared at the remnants of the trail on his coat, sparkling in the sun, then at the trail leading to the rainbow, and inhaling deeply he detected the intoxicating smell of fruit. Overwhelmed by all these, he only then detected Bianca's hissing laughter.

"You just jussst like Varlaisss," Bianca said between giggles, slithering over to Shep.

Rolling his eyes, Shep said to the others, "Sorry about that... We got a little sidetracked." Grinning sheepishly, Shep recalled the little white rabbit who, happening to hop by, had asked Shep and Bianca for help finding his way back to the burrow. "Anyway... What is this stuff?"

Shep instinctively licked his now-golden fur, only to immediately fall into a stupor at its magnificent taste. "Oh, this tastes just like Toodles' sugar cookies..." He mumbled, nearly in a trance at the strange paint's sugary sweet, almost heavenly taste.

(Just for clarification, Toodles would be me. xD And sorry about disappearing.)

[ZeldaWolf]

"Ugg. It would be much easier if the ninja's had come with us. We're not trained in defending ourselves like they are...." Lynn sighed and sat down with a thump, looking upwards as he tried to think of something.
"Maybe we could have someone fly up over the tree tops," he suggested slowly as he stood on his hind legs for a moment to see if he could get a peek over the dense green leaves. "you know, just to see if they can spot the rainbow's end and see if there's anything over there. Do you guys know where Leofric is?" Lynn scanned the group in search of the Christmas-green pup.

[Horsie]

"Great idea Lynn!" Diosca exclaimed.

[Shinki]

Leofric followed the other pups as they ran toward the shining, glimmering thing ahead. Sunlight glinted off of it, and Leofric heard Diosca shout, it was a path! A shining path of gold that could lead them to the end of the rainbow, or could it? Was it really going to be that easy? Leofric had heard many stories from old Nerida, and no adventure was as easy as it seemed.

The path was inviting and warm, like a ray of golden sunshine touching the earth, and it covered all who walked on it with a golden radiance. Leofric jumped onto it and rolled, allowing the warm, shimmering substance to coat his fur and wings. He breathed in and relished in the sweet scent of cookies fresh out of Amma’s stone oven, sun-ripened strawberries so plump and juicy he could almost taste them on his tongue. The voices of the other pups drifted away as his thoughts grew foggy, and his tongue lolled out of his mouth to taste the delicious aromas that filled his nose.

He snapped his mouth shut. He rolled over and shook himself quickly, and gold went flying in all directions. He looked around at the other pups and saw how they were talking about how lovely the path smelled, saw Shep and Lady taste the path and collapse, their tongues hanging out in a daze.

“The path is dangerous,” he murmured to himself. He jumped off the path, and his thin wings caught the air and made his leap farther than a normal jump. “It’s here to trick us!” He yelled at the other puppies that were still on the path. Some were starting to run ahead, others were talking about trolls and leprechauns lying in wait. “Get off the path! This path is a trap! What if a leprechaun did this?”

[Lizy]

Chewwy immediately jumped off the path in the nice wet grass.
"See, I told you we had to follow the sence," she mumbled.
