St.Patrick's Day Event~ Gold Rush RPG

[Brownie]

Sammy laughed along with Jeff. "Is it fading?" She hissed, and laughed a little less. "Oh well, we ssstill might get there on time, I hope! Hey--Why'd you ssstop, Eileen?"
Eileen was staring at the rainbow. "Huh? Oh! Well, I was wondering...Which colors in do you like best? I perfer orange." Sammy also stopped and looked at the rainbow. "Well I love the color green! But we musssn't ssstop right now, for we need to get to the rainbow'sss end." She said with a grin, and moved on.

Suddenly, as they were walking, Lynn felt a song coming on. He slowly grinned a mischievous grin.
"OOOHHHHHHHHHHH There once was a group of youngsters, searching for that pot ol' gold. At the end, of the rainbow... treasures and jewels UNTOLDDD......" He yowled at the top of his lungs then trailed off quietly, since no one seemed to be joining along. They do it in the movies.... he grumbled to himself.

Leofric’s tongue hung out of his mouth as he panted, running alongside the other pups. Patches of blue sky and sunlight shone through the black clouds, and the rainbow flickered. One moment it would shine brighter than ever, and the next moment it would fade to a mist before coming back again, dimmer than it was before. Through a gap in the clouds he could see the sun, bright and clear as it thrust its rays through the frowning mass of gray to the ground below. Everything looked brighter, cleaner, new…as if the world had been washed clean in the mist of the past days. The smell of earth and damp grass was strong and musky in Leofric’s nose as his paws tore the soft ground, rich with the scent of adventure.

He was focused on where the end of the rainbow touched the horizon. Where the trees of the forest thinned out to reveal rolling hills that climbed higher and higher. The little stream was fast and cold higher up in the hills, and in some places it cut deep into the foothills to expose steep walls of rock. The journey to the end of the rainbow was not going to be so easy, then, but for now the ground was smooth and even, with hillsides that rose and fell like waves on a good day at sea.

Leofric did not join the chatter and antics of the other puppies. Adventuring was serious business, and they were on an adventure to find the end of the rainbow. He was so focused on where he was going and being a serious adventurer that he almost didn’t notice. But there! He saw it again. Something high above them in the sky, following along the same path as the rainbow, was glimmering. What is that? He thought, and he slowed down and almost stopped as he stared up at it.

“Hey!” He barked, “Hey guys, did you see that? What is that?”

[Brownie]

"Huh? What is what?" Said Eileen, looking up at the sky. Sammy flickered his toung to see what Leofric was talking about. A few minutes had passed, and Eileen had suddenly gasped. "Hey...I think I saw something too!" She said, squinting. "Either thisss is a ssspecial rainbow, or I've just never noticcced these thingsss before." Said Sammy.

Eileen was silent.

"Maybe...Maybe it's a magic rainbow!" Eileen yipped with a little dance. Sammy laughed, but she didn't laugh thinking that Eileen was immature (She was just a puppy, after all), but actually she laughed for she thought Eileen's concept was quite fascinating. "I think it'sss posssible." She said with a grin, and she started to dance with Eileen.

"Just think...A magical rainbow in Lunaryk! Do you think we're the first to discover one? That is--if it is a magic rainbow. Who knows--maybe all rainbows are magical!" Eileen yipped excitedly, rambling a bit.

Lady dropped onto the floor, panting. She had finally caught up with the other pups.
She squinted her eyes as she looked into the sky.
"A magic rainbow?" she asked, slightly dazed after her long run. "It looks so pretty.."
She lifted her paw up as if to touch the rainbow, which seemed so far away. "It looks so small from here." She said, slowly drifting off to sleep.

[Horsie]

Diosca skidded to a halt behind Lady.
"Did someone say a magical rainbow?" she asked. She did a little excited dance in a circle. "We might be the first group of puppies on Lunaryk to discover one! C'mon guys, we have to get to the end before it fades!"
The sun seemed to even lower in the sky though, and althrough the rainbow shimmered and glittered the colours were less vibrant than when it had first been spotted. "The end looks so far away..." Diosca said sadly.
But then she saw something. Shaking her head, she looked up at the rainbow. "Hey, look, GUYS!"
The rainbow was shimmering and glittering brighter, the colours more vibrant and contrasting against the pale blue of the sky. The whole rainbow seemed to be sparkling, and just when Diosca thought it couldn't get any brighter, a glittering golden path appeared ahead of them, stretching out into the distance.
Diosca gasped. "Guys, it's showing us the way!"

Lady slowly opened her eyes. They widened as she saw a glimmering golden path infront of her. She rubbed her eyes with her paws - was she dreaming? She swiftly turned her head to her right, to see Diosca staring at the path too. Lady inquisitively examined the path, lost for words.
"Should we follow it?" She asked. "This isn't a trick, is it..?" Lady said, looking up at the rainbow, shining across the sky.

[Horsie]

"Looks pretty real to me..." Diosca said in wonder, putting a grey paw onto the golden path. The light surrounded her paw, and when she lifted it up it was covered in a shimmering, gold glitter.

[slumpylumpy]

Lady's jaw dropped in awe. "Oh my cookie! It's like gold, glittery paint!" She gasped.
She bent down to sniff the path, popping her head up to reveal her nose covered in the gold substance. She licked her nose with her pink tongue and smiled brightly.
"It tastes so good.." She said, licking the path.

[Horsie]

Diosca snuffled in the gold stuff before licking it off her nose.
"Mmmm.... it takes like sugar cookies! Let's follow it, come on!"

[slumpylumpy]

"Okay!" Lady yipped. "I'm right behind you!"
Lady noticed the path disappearing behind Diosca as she ran ahead. "How would the other pups be able to follow us without the path?" she wondered, looking back into the distance.

[Horsie]

Diosca looked back worriedly. "We should wait for them... we don't want to leave them behind!"

[slumpylumpy]

Lady nodded. "Yes, we shan't leave them behind." she said. "I wonder how long they will be?"
She gazed up into the sky. The rainbow's colours had faded again. She and Diosca could only hope it would brighten up again when the pups joined them.

[Horsie]

Diosca sat down while she waited, playing with her pinchy-claw.

Lady tapped her front paw impatiently. She was getting worried about the rainbow fading.
She played with ladybirds to take her mind off of it.

[Adah]

Feather pounded up the path, colliding into Diosca. "Sorry!" she yipped, trying to catch her breath.

[Horsie]

"Feather!" exclaimed Diosca. "We need to find a way to round everyone up quickly, because if we separate the people at the back won't know which way to go! Do you have any ideas?"

[slumpylumpy]

"Feather!" Lady barked. "Thank goodness your here! See that golden path? We think it leads to the end of the rainbow.. It's awfully tasty though and disappears behind us when we run infront of it! "
Lady pointed her scarlet snout in the direction of the glimmering golden path. She contained herself not to lick it up, but was very hungry. "I sure hope cookies are at the end of this rainbow!" She laughed; lying down in the green damp grass.

[Marsh]

"Did someone say cookies?" inquired Arrietty enthusiastically as she rounded the bend and looked at the scene in front of her "I do have to admit, triple chocolate cookies are the best but so are white chocolate and dark chocolate and milk chocolate and chilli chocolate and mint chocolate and banana chocolate and ginger chocolate and lavender chocolate and lemon chocolate and walnut chocolate and rum chocolate and.. and... Well, All cookies! Epecially home-made, amazingly delicious, scrum-didily-dumptious cookies! I adore baking them!" she said jumping up and down while speeding up towards the end

[Horsie]

"Arietty! Thank goodness! Where on Lunaryk are the others? If they don't catch up soon we might not find the rainbow!"
Diosca tried to remember who else had been with them. "Hmm... Eileen and Sammy, Shep and Bianca, River, Kaegan, Lynn, Misty, Patrick and all the other snakes and Leofric... have I missed anyone?"

[slumpylumpy]

Lady's belly grumbled. "Stop, Arrietty! You're making me hungry!" She complained. She couldn't help herself, she started to lick up the golden path. It made her feel quenched and filled her stomach at the same time. She lifted her head off the ground and felt very dazed.. The sky spinned in circles around her as she dropped onto the floor. "Maybe that wasn't a good idea after all..." She mumbled; her eyes trying to focus on the rainbow, but it just looked like a whirl of spinning colors.

[Horsie]

"Uh-oh... Lady! LADY!" Diosca snuffled around the red puppy, who seemed to be swaying alarmingly on the spot. Her gaze moved to the path, which glittered back innocently. "Can you hear me Lady?"

[slumpylumpy]

Lady heard mumbles and noises as if she were underwater. Ripples of sound and visions rushed through her mind as she lay on the grass. She finally manage to recover and shook herself off as she gave a stern stare to the twinkling path. She reassured Diosca, telling her what she had experienced. "Silly path, do you want to help us or not?" Lady inquired, sighing as she gazed back up at the rainbow. Suddenly she froze - the clouds were turning grey and the rainbow was fading again. Maybe this was just the path's taste that was playing with her? She decided to ignore it and waited for the other pups with Diosca, Feather and Arrietty.

[Lizy]

Chewwy went to the place, where Diosca, Feather and Arrietty were waiting.

"Hey, guys, do you smell that too?" She sniffed.

[slumpylumpy]

Lady sniffed the air. "I smell.. wet grass." She said. "What can you smell, Chewwy?" Lady said wonderingly.
She peered up into the sky again. It was still grey in her eyes. She decided to take a nap, maybe that would push off the effect of the glitteing gold path she ate. "I'll catch up with you guys soon…" she said as she dozed off.
