River looked on and said "Lady, Chewwy, This I think someone is whispering something but I still think Patrick and I should go and take a look."
River then heard the words as well. "You are here in the middle of the valley We been there every step of the way You been warned to watch out for the traps We can not show you the end of the Rainbow."
"River keep his eyes on the sky as we sat there and wonder who said it." He looked at the way the Rainbow is fading and stared at it and seen something that looked like it was wearing Green again."

Eileen whimpered, rubbing at her ear. "What is that?" she pouted, keeping close to the others. She nearly suffocated Sammy when hugging her, for she had heard of many creatures in Irish mythology who told such tales as the ones she heard. "I'm scared...What if they're ghosts?" She whispered in Sammy's ear.
"They're trying to trick usss, I've heard of sssuch thingsss before. I don't know what they are, b-but we mussst block our earsss so that we will not be fooled." Sammy was shivering all over, but Eileen didn't notice this. But even though she said this, Sam kept listening.
"You're right! Guys, block you're ears!" Eileen said, jumping to her feet.
"Wait, I've changed my mind. Maybe thisss isn't a trick...Perhapsss this isss a riddle?" Sam said, less scared now. She loved riddles, and she decided to believe that this was another one.
"A riddle?" said Eileen curiously. She paused for a moment, then said, "A riddle, or a trick? I'll have to go with me insincts on this one!" she and Sammy thought for a while. This was by far the strangest adventure they had, but one of the most fun.
"I think it'sss a riddle." Sammy said, now smiling. It was clear that his fear was gone.
"I love riddles!" Eileen said with a little dance. "C'mon guys, let's keep going! Listen closely for any hints, ok?" And with that she continued walking to the end of the rainbow.

River started walking and padded up to Sammy. "Sammy why not we try and figure out the riddle together. We can take everyone words and try and work them out to see if can find hint and find the end of the rainbow" said River.
"There must be something in the word spoken and that each pup as heard not all can be right but maybe there something in each line and it scramble up only each pup is only getting part of it riddle if it a riddle."

"Sssure!" hissed Sam. Eileen danced ahead of the others, laughing.
"Listen!" she yipped, cocking her head a little to the side.
You will need team-work to solve these tricky riddles that are as hard as playing with fiddles but until then we shall lurk at the end waiting for someone who'll accept our challenges
What is white that can bite but does not have teeth? What can run the speed of wind but does not have a single limb? What is as cold as stone but brings joy to the puppies that roam Lunaryk? You see it when the leaves have already taken rest and it never stops 'till the sun rises above Nayati and Sashi good luck on this test!

The sun sank low over the horizon and disappeared behind the spine of mountains, covering the valley below in shadow. In the growing darkness, the path glittered like golden sunlight in front of the puppies as it wound between huge boulders twice their size and across swift mountain streams. The little river and the rolling meadow was behind them now, and the snow-capped mountains lay ahead with the last rays of red-gold sunlight glowing off its sides like burnished gold. The rainbow still shone above them, faint and pale in the dimming light, but steady and unwavering. A normal rainbow would have disappeared long ago, but not this one, and Leofric thought it glowed with its own faint light- a steadfast aurora at the start of spring. Leofric was almost glad for the path, for its light and guidance kept the puppies from stumbling in the sheer, rocky terrain. The heather and clover were deceptive, and hid many holes and crevices between the large rocks where a puppy could fall into and never come out again. The puppies had walked along the path for all this time, and nothing had happened, no terrible danger had befallen them, and Leofric was no longer so cautious of it. Over time, he had walked closer and closer to it, so that by now his paws dipped into the shimmering gold, and he walked together with the others. He was just getting comfortable with having his paws covered in gold when he heard it. It was a voice, long and distant yet at the same time very close by. It was one voice, and yet it was also many voices, low and hissing and whispering. Singing. We are ssssinging We are hissing We are at the end of the rainbow You won't find ussss The path is a trap And the smell is ssssso fake We are too smart We are like the voices in your head We are the onesss you can't forget. The voices did not make any sense, hissing and singing in nonsense riddles, and they frightened Leofric. He heard that Lady and Chewwy also heard the voices, and he stood very still, ears pricked to hear the voices again as they continued their chilling song. We are here You can't sssssee us Sssstanding here alone We already tricked you Onccceee or twiccceee The end of the rainbow Will not be sssshhown. They were tricked already? Leofric jumped off the path and onto a nearby rock, trying to see anything, anything at all, that could give a hint to what the voices were. If they were at the end of the rainbow, then why did they sound so close? The voices seemed to answer his thoughts… There isss onlyy one way to find usss Be smart and maybe you can find our secret But till then there is nothing You can doo
You are here in the middle of the valley We were there every step of the way You were warned to watch out for the traps We cannot show you the end of the Rainbow.Leofric was scared and confused. The voices were watching them the whole way? The voices, whatever they were, had tricked the puppies, but then said that they had warned them about the traps. Where the voices trying to help, or did they have more sinister plans? Leofric did not know, but he listened carefully when the voices sang again. You will need team-work to solve these tricky riddles that are as hard as playing with fiddles but until then we shall lurk at the end waiting for someone who'll accept our challengesWhat is white that can bite but does not have teeth? What can run the speed of wind but does not have a single limb? What is as cold as stone but brings joy to the puppies that roam Lunaryk? You see it when the leaves have already taken rest and it never stops 'till the sun rises above Nayati and Sashi good luck on this test!Leofric didn’t know if the voices where trying to be helpful or not, their songs where so confusing! But he tried his best to think about the riddle. Something white that bites without teeth? Cold, fast, and hard, but also fun…Leofric was completely clueless. What could it be? He looked up at the mountains ahead and their snowcapped peaks, and shivered when a cold breeze blew through his fur. Suddenly, Leofric remembered cold winter days when he wanted to go out to play in the snow. “Don’t let the cold bite your nose,” his Amma would say as she wrapped a warm scarf around his neck. He knew the answer. “Snow!” Leofric said. “The answer is snow! But,” he frowned. “What do the voices mean by that?”

"Snow?! But it's sunny!" Diosca exclaimed. But then she looked over at the fiery-red sun, low in the sky, casting long shadows over everything. "But not for long..."

River looked and said Snow. Well that could be that we are to head maybe up to the top of the Mountain top where there might be snow. "What do you think Leofric" said River. The end of the Rainbow could be at the top of the mountain. "What about the parts of the voices before the riddle that you answered."

River: "Blue Horns, hello there." It may be getting dark but we may be able to figure out the riddle of the voice we been hearing. River "I wonder who was watching us and telling this voices."
River contiune to wonder what the other praise were before the riddle that was some what answered with the word "Snow." Then heard it again.
The voice: "You are moving closer to the end But you keep on going down the path What if it not in that direction of the light but to left or maybe to the right To find the end of the rainbow which way would you go"
River stopped in this tracks and barked for the other pups to stop as well. "We need to stop for I heard a voice again and the word as clear as ever." If any pup is willing to help me in the task maybe we should get together and think twice before moving on from here."

"Snow..." Lady thought, "Snow, snow snow. What could it mean? River, I heard that too! Left or right? If nothing goes right go left, but which way should we go? Ah, I'm confused!" Lady said as she plopped onto the grass beneath her.

River was happy to see that his bark had gotten someone attention. "Lady, maybe it to the right we are to go but let see if anyone else as any ideas" said River. He walked over and sat down next to Lady on the grass.
He still barked to get the other attention for he wanted all pup to stay together and help out this latest phrase that he heard.

Lady gazed right, then left. To her right she saw the rocky valleys and to her left yet again rocky valleys, but the snow tipped mountains Leofric had mentioned before too. "Maybe we should head to the mountains? They have the snow on them which was the answer to that riddle... Or maybe that's a trick like the path and smell was said to be? I'm really not sure…" Lady sighed, looking off into the distance.

"Of course, it's snow!" yipped Eileen, nearly glomping Leofric.
"But I ssstill don't get how that'sss sssupposed to help usss." hissed Sammy who was squeezing through Eileen and Leofric.
"We need to stop, I heard a voice again and the words are as clear as ever." Eileen heard River say.
"It's sssaying we're going the wrong way and the path is jussst a trick? I knew there was sssomething strange about the path in the firssst place, but which other way are we to go?" Sammy said, a little worried.
Eileen closed her eyes, then spun in circles. When she stopped spinning, her nose pointed west. "Let's go west!" she yipped.
"I don't think that'sss very affective," Sammy said with sort of a laugh. "they sssaid that we're clossse to the end, and wessst is opposssite to north. I wish we had a map, they're fun to look at..."
"You want a map just so you can entertain yourself?!" Eileen gasped.
"Not only becaussse of that, of courssse! Alssso becaussse we know to where we're actually at. How about we go...North? I've alwaysss wanted to sssee Nayati and Sssashi up close, if they are in the north. They look a little purple, if you ask me..." Sammy hissed.
"We can't go north just because of that reason, though." said she.
"That'sss true. But which way do we go, then?" Sammy said in reply, facing the others.

Leofric thought very hard about the voices and their riddles. Why would they ask riddles? And why snow?
“Maybe you’re right,” he said to River. “The rainbow looks like it goes all the way to the top of the mountain. Do you think the path goes all that way?” The voices had said that the path was a trap, but he didn’t think they were very nice either. He did not trust mysterious voices. “Don’t talk to strangers” his Amma always said, and these mysterious voices were very strange indeed. They mocked the puppies and sang,
You are moving closer to the end But you keep going down the path It may not be that direction of the light but to the left or maybe to the right To find the end of the rainbow. which way would you go?
The voices made a strange rippling, whinnying sound, high and wavering. Leofric didn’t know what it supposed to be, but he guessed they were laughing. The shadows around them lengthened and seemed to reach out to grab at the puppies’ paws. Leofric crept onto the glowing trail of gold and shivered. In the growing darkness the shadowed shapes of rocks loomed over them, and he felt much safer near the light. The strange laugh echoed in the shadows again.
Foolish younglings, silly bellycrawlers, Seeking the end of the colored bow You toil for naught, for nothing Lies at rainbow’s end.
Not for those who seek for self, Who seek for glory, treasures, praise, For them only dust and shadow will find And not the hidden treasure in mind.
Leofric did not like the voices hissing in the shadows, and he was afraid. This was supposed to be a fun adventure. This wasn’t how it was supposed to be. He wasn’t one of the brave adventurers from the stories…but then he starting thinking about all those stories. He needed to be a brave adventurer. Fearless. Not shivering and whimpering with his tail tucked between his legs. He took a deep breath and puffed out his chest, trying to look as brave as possible even though his knees shook.
“What do you want?” He shouted against the gathering darkness around them. “If the path is a trick, and we will never find the end of the rainbow, then what do we do?” He flapped his wings furiously a few times, just to show the voices that he was serious, but the strange laughter came again, and they sang.
Foolish younglings, silly bellycrawlers, Seeking the end of the colored bow You toil for nothing but shadows, For where you go lie only specters.
The shadows around them shifted as the last rays of the sun crept behind the mountain peaks. Wait! What was that? Leofric squinted at the shadows and dark shapes of boulders and shrubs…there! There it was again! Something in the shadows had shifted. Something darker than the shadows. A black so impossibly dark that the moment Leofric saw it, it melted away into formless shadows again, so that it was impossible to pinpoint what the thing was. But he knew what he saw, and what he saw was…something.
“I see you!” He barked, his fur fluffed and his tail between his legs as he recoiled from whatever it was he saw- somehow it was even more frightening to see the nameless something than before. “I see you there!”

"I see it too, Leofric!" Lady gasped. But... what did she see? A black abyss which seemed to spread like a drop of black ink as soon as she lay her eyes on it; fading into the darkness. "H-hello? Is anyone there?" She whispered, imagining she was in one of those horror stories. She trembled as the black figure faded yet again.

River watched as Leofric had steped on the path and heard the voices he was hearing as well. But soon River was up and walked over to Leofric and asked "Leofric, is everything alright. Did you see something" he asked.
Then River looked the way of Leofric was looking saying " I see you there." River "I told you I seen someone and I know they are saying some things." Once again
The voice stated: "You are near the end of the colored bow Then look to sky but hurry for it going so we are a head but can you see the end"
River heard it loud and clear for some one is stating it coming to an end. River looked to the sky to see if he could see the end.

Sammy and Eileen were shivering with fright. But then Eileen also saw it, and started to bark loudly until it was a little easier to make out. "I see you too! You're a..." Eileen barked, staring closely into the darkness. "A horse...?" She said in whispers.
"A pooca!" Sammy suddenly said. "That'sss what you are, a pooca!"
"What do you want, though?" Eileen said softer this time, remembering from the legends that poocas, when treated with respect, are sometimes beneficial.
The pooca was now in sight. It looked like a black horse with golden eyes and a flowing mane, and it stared at the pups with a serious face.
Foolish younglings, Naughty Fuzzballs! I am warning you, turn back now. Your packs are awefuly worried, and seek your presence.
"Oh my..." Eileen said, remembering that she said that she and Sammy would be back by nightfall. She looked at the others, then at the pooca again, speechless.
"Wait!" Sammy said, squinting at the pooca. "Can we--can we sssee what's at the rainbow'sss end, pretty please?" Sammy tried grinning, but that just made him look even more afraid.
You seek the rainbow's end, still? Is one warning not enough? Your pack is awfuly frightened, and seek your presence.
The pooca repeated.

River called over "Sammy and Eileen, come over here and you will hear. Do you listen to that for we do not know if it someone or not" said River.
The voice stated: "You are near the end of the colored bow Then look to sky but hurry for it going so we are a head but can you see the end"
River heard it loud and clear for some one is stating it coming to an end. River looked to the sky to see if he could see the end. and River repeated and did just that.

"It's a pooca..." Eileen said to River, not knowing wether she was scared or not.
"Yesss, I can sssee the end I think, but you will let usss get there, right?" Sammy pleaded to the pooca. And then she remembered that sometimes they would accept offers. "Here, I'll give you all of our cookiesss!" she hissed, offering the sack which still had a few cookies left, surprisingly.
Fine, I shall let you get there. But you must follow me and hurry, for your pack is worried.
The pooca said as it took the bag of cookies. It finally stopped it's high pitched laughing--or neighing--Sammy and Eileen couldn't tell which, and started being a little nicer to the pups.

River just looked on and followed. He was not going to argue and then he asked "Pooca, for have you been giving us these strange riddles that we keep hearing"?
For some reason he was not sure if should follow and he did not want to miss out either.
