Happy St. Patrick’s Day!
Event: St. Patrick’s Day 2017
Short Story Contest
It was about a half hour past sunrise when Misty, me, and Locke were out at the Babbly Brook, looking for four-leaf clovers. We must've been there about--um...
Oh. I...guess you're wondering who's speaking. Hello everybody! It's me, Bear.
But as I was saying, we must've been there ever since sunrise looking for those clovers. Granted, we did get a little distracted sometimes, and when we were supposed to be concentrating on our "mission," that's what Misty called it, we might've started a competition on who could hold their breath the longest (which Locke won), or who could fit the most cookies in their mouth (which Misty won), or who could climb up the highest tree (we never ended up doing that one, since I said it was unfair for Locke--he's a seahorse, you know. They're like mobile potatoes when they're not in the water). But we always got back on track, as they say, and resumed our search. Then, after searching, all morning, for hours, Misty suggested that we take an "elevenses" cookie break, even though I thought for sure that we had second breakfast not a half an hour ago. But I wasn't against the idea, and Locke wasn't either, so we sat down on the bank of the Babbly Brook and took out our picnic basket. And that's when we heard it, clear as can be: a little "baa."
"Could I please, pretty please, maybe have just one of those delicious-looking Irish shortbread cookies?"
It sounded as small as a cream puff, but when I turned round to see who the voice belonged to, it was almost as big as myself (mind you, I'm not very big, but out of the three of us I'm the tallest). Why, it was a little lamb, for sure! But before we could answer, a big, red and black wolf pup came up and greeted us.

"Hello!" He said with a smirk. "This here's Bridget, my friend. I'm Faolan. How do you do?"
He seemed very friendly and he had a funny accent, kind of like Locke, so Misty introduced them to us. And we gave them some cookies, too, and insisted that they stay for a game of tag. It sounded like a great idea to them, but I had a funny feeling when a few raindroplets dabbled my beak. Then suddenly, as we were just about to start our game...
KAWOM!
A big thunderstorm came crashing in and scared the life out of us, especially poor little Bridget! We ran to the nearest cave for shelter as fast as our legs could carry us, but it took a while for Locke to arrive (he doesn't mind getting wet, so that's good). It was kind of a tight fit, and we were as wet and cramped as sardines, but it wasn't bad. The only problem was...what in Lunaryk were we going to do until the storm passed? And that's when Faolan suggested that we tell stories. We all liked the idea, especially Bridget. Locke told us about how he found a snake in his cave once, and Misty told us about how she journeyed to the other side of the rainbow with her friends, and Faolan told us about how Bridget and him fell in a pit full of the "tastiest clovers you've ever eaten" (that's what Bridget added), and I told them about how me and Misty made mud-cakes, until we told so many stories that we...well...we ran out of stories to tell. We were gonna take another cookie break, but when Faolan reached into the picnic basket his paw was immersed into a puddle of cookie soup.
The rain's still pouring right now, and...*looks over shoulder* Misty's entertaining herself by trying to make a mud sculpture of Bridget. Faolan looks confused.
Hey...maybe you have a story to tell? ^v^
Faolan and Bridget's Story Showcase
Short Story Contest
Among other things, Faolan and Bridget love to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with cookies, grass (in Bridget’s case), and a good story. But…they’ve come across a small problem. They ran out of stories to tell! But hey, maybe you have a story you could share with them?
How to Play
Write a story for Faolan and Bridget! They love all kinds of stories, but they would be most thrilled if you wrote about one of their adventures (they’ve had many).
Rules
1. Follow all MnF forum and site rules and adoption guidelines
2. Write a story about one of Faolan and Bridget's adventures
2. Story must be no longer than 3 pages
3. Make sure your story has proper grammar, punctuation, spelling, etc.
Bonus points if your story has anything to do with St. Patrick’s Day!
Form
Copy, paste, and post your filled out form within this thread
The winner wins Faolan and Bridget!
Event has ended!
Well, the rain's finally stopped, and just in time for dinner, too! Thanks a bunch for sharing your stories, Faolan and Bridget were quite charmed.
"I would love to slide down a rainbow!" Bridget said.
"And travel to the...Scotland." that's what Faolan said.
After a long and hard decision, they now conclude that the winner of the contest is Mana! They'd really like to hear more of your stories. Every night would be great.
"Only if you want to, we mean." Faolan says.
But anyway--uh...whoops. It's already sundown and I'm never late for dinner and Omma's gonna worry and...uh...we really need to go.
I'll be sending Mana the codes for her new pets, Faolan and Bridget. Congrats!
Happy (belated) St. Patrick's Day! ^v^
