Dear friends from the Hangout (or whoever's curious I guess),
Hi! Meesh here. First of all, whether you are a random internet browser who has somehow stumbled upon this little piece of the vast jungle that is the internet, or whether you are or once were a member of the Hangout, I hope that whoever is reading this is safe and making their course through life happily and fruitfully. Especially during these last few months, I've often thought about all the people I have ever met, and that includes online. World-wide crises have a way of inspiring that sort of thought, I guess. XD But in all seriousness I hope you are safe!
I'm writing this specifically to all my dear members of MnF. You know who you are. I know I've said this before, but I'll say it again- MnF, and all the people I met through it, will always hold a place in my heart. Although life has changed its course and has brought me to a place vastly different than I could have ever imagined, I really believe that the lessons I learned from the people that came and went through my years on this hangout played a part in that, and for that, I am very grateful. I started this website when I was 12 years old. I'm turning 23 in July and I honestly am touched to see that, now and then, past members still pop in to say hello. That means a lot.
As for why I'm writing this, well, I thought that it was time to give a real status report. For a while I kinda figured no one would care if I never posted again, but I also think that a dead site is a frustrating thing to stumble across, and I thought it would be nice to let y'all know why MnF is kinda dead (though y'all probably have already guessed that life has something to do with it XD) and will probably never resurrect, as much as I'd like it to.
As I mentioned, I'm turning 23 in a couple of months (w0wieee I'm getting old XDD). I'm in my Junior year attending a university studying Interpersonal Communications. I love it because I'm forced to get over my shyness and initiate conversations with people...I feel like when I tell them, "Oh, yeah, I'm an interpersonal communications major." Then they think to themselves, "Ooooh no wonder she's talking to me." Hehehe.
I still have some ways to go before I graduate because I'm working at the same time to pay my way through college. I work in domestic house services and as an activities coordinator for a Catholic not-for-profit, dedicated to providing families with spiritual, professional, and personal development. It's become my new passion, hence why I've been so inactive on here. As much as I love MnF, my love for helping others through my work comes first (besides, school + work = many responsibilities XD). To put it short, life's currently a rollercoaster of lessons learned, but it's been fun and I'm excited for what the future holds. What have y'all been up to? I'd love to hear about the current chapter of your story. :3
Misty, Liza, Bear, Lucy, Locke, and Timko and all the other critters are still a big part of my life. I draw them often, and sometimes think up funny stories as I do my work. I work with a lot of young people, which provides endless inspiration for my characters' development! It's all quite exciting, and I'm finding that, although I simply don't have the time to go online every day and work on the website, Misty and her friends are growing a lot as real characters with real stories. Sometimes, as I go through life and learn my own lessons or make my own observations about how relationships work, I feel an itch to reflect that in a short story; something that communicates reality through the simple adventures of some made-up critters. That's the value of story-telling, and I think that's what Misty n' Friends' can offer.
My creative side is constantly active (except maybe when I'm doing my taxes...I haven't figured out how to make that fun yet), but its fruits are slow to appear. So, although I can tell you that MnF is still very much alive, in a way, I don't have much to show for it...yet. If life doesn't throw me other surprises, my goal is to keep watering this small garden little by little, until someday, maybe when I've graduated, I can offer you guys the fruits.

But until then, if you guys are interested, y'all are welcome to follow me on Instagram @meeshandmisty. I don't post often there either (lol no suprise) but at least it's something I can share with those who would like. It's also a great way to keep in touch! Just DM me if you are a member (pls share your user from here if you remember it!). I’d really love to hear from you.
With all that being said, if you’re a past member reading this, please know how grateful I am to you for being a part of this adventure. Misty n’ Friends will always be a special little corner of the internet to me. It holds real memories, and I’ll never delete them.
Thanks guis *huggle*
