It’s been raining for three days straight. A family of frogs have moved into our den so I’ve been pretty busy getting them acquainted with our new Mud Kingdom. Meesh’s neighborhood is flooded too and is more reminiscent to Atlantis, last time I was in plush form (which was yesterday because I was trying to find the sun, didn’t really work…), so it seems to be a multi-universe phenomemon. She said it was because of Harvey…I’m not sure who Harvey is but he must have elemental weather powers…or maybe he’s a really sad cloud who needs a warm cookie, or a hug…wow, you think Meesh is going to have to turn into a mermaid? That would be cool, but-
I felt a drip on my nose and I lost my train of thought. Anyway, at the moment I’m helping Amma patch up the leaks in walls. Their drip, drip poked our backs all night so that this morning we felt pretty soggy when we woke up.
Want to know how our den has become a bed and breakfast for amphibians? Well, the other day I went outside right as I got up to shake myself off, ending up even soggier since it was raining so much, so I sneezed, and then I heard a symphony of little ribbits right at my paws. For a lil’ moment I thought I was catching a cold, since I figured I may have caught a frog in my throat, but instead I found that it was not one, but five real frogs that were croaking at the entrance to our den.
I was a little surprised to look down and see Mr. Froggy looking up at me, with Mrs. Froggy and three little ones blinking in the mud right behind him.
“Scooz me, miss Pup,” he croaked, “but our log is waterlogged and our lily pads have lost their float. Might you be so kind-“
I didn’t let him finish, because I saw little Junior frog swimming with his sisters in the cold mud, ran back inside to wake up Amma, and the next thing we knew was that Mr. Froggy, Mrs. Froggy, and three little tadpoles were safe in a little mud puddle at the corner of our den.
Since they’ve come we’ve had plenty of company in the den and it’s been a blast! Locke, Liza, Lucy, and other critters from the grounds have come over for games, and Amma and Mr. and Mrs. Froggy have told us really funny stories. Good company is the best sun for a rainy day!
I hear Meesh’s voice in the back of my head. Imma bring Locke in case she needs swimming lessons. Gotta go!
Signed,
