A Spiffy Guide to Owning Critters
 Misty n' Friends Terms of Use

- I have the right to take your pets away if I feel they are not being taken good care of.
Basically, if you're not following these guidelines.
 

Legal copyright stuff to be aware of;
- Owning one of my designs means you have limited rights to a specific character design
- I (Meesh), as the original artist, retain partial rights to the design and art of the pet, and therefore can use the pet for commercial or promotional use (i.e. advertising or including it in my personal portfolio)


You may...

• Give your pet a name, backstory and personality.

The character is yours, so have fun! Just be aware that;
The name you give your pet must be appropriate and adhere to MnF rules.
Genders are predetermined.

• Share your pet on other websites, so long as Misty n'
  Friends is credited and there is a link back to the original website
  (misty-n-friends.proboards.com).

There is no need to credit me or MnF in writing if the copyright is visible on the pets image.

• Use your MnF pet as a personal character or fursona, so long as you clearly credit Misty n' Friends for the art and design.

• Roleplay with your pet or use him/her as a character in your story.

If you are roleplaying on a different website credit Misty n' Friends and link back to misty-n-friends.proboards.com
Non-commercial stories only. You are not allowed to profit from the art or design of MnF pets.

• Draw fanart of your pet.

You are allowed to draw fanart/comics of your pets as well as fanfiction, just remember to credit Misty n' Friends and link back if possible when shared on other websites.

You may make slight changes to the design, or use artistic liberty wherever the design has not been illustrated (depending on the pose of the original image this may happen).

You are also allowed to make avatars/banners/other graphics, but please give proper credit.

• Gift your pet to another member on Misty n' Friends.
  Just please let me know beforehand.

 

You may not...

• Remove, edit, or cover the copyright sign on the image of your pet in any way.

[/font][li]Majorly edit, alter or change your pet's image/design in any way. [/li]Again, unless you're making a banner or some other graphic art. But still give proper credit and link back if possible.
You may make slight changes to the original design, but please nothing major (i.e. colors, pattern, etc.) and do not edit the original image. You may only make these changing when drawing the pet or ordering art yourself.
You may not change the pet's gender.

[li]Steal the species/Lunaryk lore to create a new character.[/li]The species found within the MnF website and Lunaryk lore are closed species, which means you cannot make your own without my permission.
The species, in the exact form they are depicted, are my personal interpretation of different mythical creatures. I ask that you please do not copy my species designs directly. You are free, of course, to make unicorn/wolf/gryphon, etc. characters, but I ask that you please do not copy the specific characteristics (i.e. the four "Types", the fact that the wolves have semi-dexterous paws, etc.) that make my depictions unique.
If you have any questions about this, please contact me.

[li]Trade your pet for other adoptables, items or collectibles of any sort.
[/li]If you no longer want your pet, please let me know and it will be brought to the pound.

[li]You may not sell or profit from your pet[/li][/ul]

for any sort of currency (real or fake).

• You may not use your pet for commercial projects
  

They cannot, for example, be used as a character in a book you plan to publish and profit from, or to make stickers, plushies, etc. out of the design and sell them.

You can use the pet to inspire a character in your book or artwork, but direct copying, especially of the art, will not be allowed.

Suggestions on caring for your pet...

• Save your pet's image onto your computer/online gallery.

Just in case they run away (they love unexpected adventures). It is not guaranteed that I will have a back-up of your pet. They need a home!

• If you decide to leave the website, please notify me about whether or not you would like to keep your pets.

It is not required to give away your pets if you quit the site, however, it is required to remove any images/links of your pets that you own if you are giving them away. Pets that will be given away may be gifted to someone else (please let me know) or donated to the website. Those donated will be re-sold through the Pound.

Note that any gifted/donated pets may not be returned to you if you decide to come back to the site.

• Any changes you make to your pet through MnF Items or Accessories are permanent.

They become very attached to their belongings.

• If your pet if feeling sick (such as the animation isn't working or the image messes up)...

Please let me know so I can take him to the Healers and he can get better!

• If you spot someone claiming ownership of a pet that is not theirs,

Please let me know, this breaks one of the MnF rules and my heart.
