This is the official RPG topic for Winter’s Peak, if you want to sign up go to the official sign-up topic here: misty-n-friends.proboards.com/thread/800/winters-peak-rpg-sign-ups
Here's a quick summary as to what this is about.
Every winter, a period of Nakda Givru terrorizes Lunaryk, striking every victim in its path. It is when winter reaches its peak, and all are affected by it, including the stead-fast ice dragons or the mighty ice elementals. In the center of Lunaryk are three rivaling groups; the Lunaryk Pack (home of the wolves), the Grukyk Legend (home of the gryphons), and the Ardyk Hoard (home of the dragons). Though the three groups usually avoid contact with each other, they are growing desperate and know they cannot do it alone. Each of these groups must prepare for this frigid time, and their leaders must assign each of their members jobs, or tasks, such as the following.
Food storage: The easiest task, usually assigned to those who have not yet reached apprenticeship. Those who are given this job must gather the food that is collected and store it, usually in a small den used for this purpose.
Den preparation: A fairly simple task. Those who are assigned this task must prepare each of the dens for Nakda Givru. Special dens might be made for those higher in rank, comparable to a safe-house.
Hunting: The hardest task of all. Only the most elite are assigned hunting. Those who are given this task must go out in search of food; make trades with other travelers such as yourself, find out what is causing Nakda Givru, end it, and try to come back without getting hurt.
You and a few others have been assigned the task of hunting, but many struggles lie ahead besides bad weather. Many different creatures prowl about, but not all of the groups are willing to team up to get the job done. The Grukyk Legend is full of mischievous gryphons, assigned by the head of their legend to separate from the other two groups even though they agreed to help. But that’s not the worst of it—there’s something else lurking in the mountains. Several rumors have told of a strange creature—supposedly the one who started this in the first place. Will you accept the quest?
~Rules~
1. Follow all MnF forum rules.
2. Even though this is a novice RPG, I want at least three, well written sentences. I understand if you have writer’s block, but honestly, it isn’t that hard.
3. Make sure you stick to the plot. While all the others are building a fort to take shelter from a blizzard, your character shouldn’t be off mountain climbing (unless it’s part of the plot).
4. No power playing. If the person is taking a while to post, don’t post for them unless they ask. This includes little things like; Tofu (played by writer 2) nodded. “Ok then, let’s go!” Scruffy (played by writer 1) yipped with glee as he marched forward.
In the story, writer 1 is making writer 2’s character (Tofu) nod without permission. This is just a little thing, but it still counts. You don’t know whether Tofu would say yes or not, even if you’re almost certain that he’d say yes.
5. No Mary Sues/Gary Stues. Nobody is perfect and we all have our faults. Please try and make your character have at least three faults.
6. Keep all violence PG at most.
7. Please wait for the starting post until you RP.
8. Have fun!
Note: The creature (the main antagonist) mentioned in the plot summary is NOT A CREATURE OF LUNARYK AND COPYRIGHT TO ME, aka Brownies-Madness. I’m sure you all know what the word “copyright” means.
