A Nifty Guide to Dirshe
Hello and welcome! Care for a cookie?
This handy little help topic will introduce you to two very useful means of getting the good stuff on the site without much effort. I will tell you what they are, how to get them and what they do. Read on to find out!
Dirshe
Dirshe (pronounced Deerrr-Sheh) is the made-up currency used by the creatures of Lunaryk. It is a rock-like material similar to clay used for medicines, tool-making and other things, but on the site itself, Dirshe is an online currency and nothin’ but numbers.
Here is what it looks like;
What’s it for?
Dirshe is an online currency used in BIN sales, Auctions, and sometimes the Pound, basically, to buy pets.
Fun fact; Dirshe replaced Babydow Items in 2012, and since then the use of them has been successful. :)
The price can vary from pet to pet, but usually, cheap pets range from 500 Dirshe to 1,000 Dirshe, and the more expensive, rarer adoptables can reach up to 5,000 or more.
As Dirshe is earned by posting (more about that later), it wouldn’t be fair for new or busy members to have to pay 1,000 for a pet, when active, older members can earn 1,000 in a cinch. Therefore, depending on your Insanity Rank (the stars above your avatar tells you what your rank is), you have a different amount to pay for each pet.
For example, I’m selling this puppy here;
He’s super rare and speshul.
For the Newbies (1-2 stars), I might sell this pup (we’ll codename him Max) for 500 Dirshe. This price would be for those who have up to 2 stars above their avatar. Whether they are the rank “All There” or “Madder than a Hatter”, this price would apply to them, and they would pay 500 D if they wanted Max (and who wouldn’t?!).
Now, for the non-Newbies, the…Oldbies? Well anyway, for the “Oldbies”, I might sell little Max here for a higher price of 1,000. So that means any member with 3-5 stars (any higher rank than
“Madder than a Hatter” ) will have to pay the “Oldbie” amount to get Max.
Why? Well, the more experienced, higher ranking players have either a; been on longer and therefore have had more time to gain Dirshe. Or b; have more time than the others and can post more and therefore gain more Dirshe
How do I get more Dirshe?
There are several ways to get more Dirshe.
1. Logging on every day. Each day you log on, you will gain 50 Dirshe.
2. Posting in the forums. For every post you make you gain 10 Dirshe. The
more you post, the more you earn, which is why Newbies and members that
have busier lives cannot gain as much, and therefore cannot afford the
more expensive “Oldbie” payment.
NOTE: Spamming to gain Dirshe is not allowed and you will lose Dirshe if you do so purpose.
3. Winning it as a prize in an event or from an Item. Sometimes I will give Dirshe out as
prizes. Certain Items (such as a Cake) will give Dirshe as well.
You can also lose Dirshe by;
1. Breaking the rules. Depending on which and how severe, you will lost a certain amount of Dirshe. This mainly applies to the “Spam” rule.
Any member caught spamming will receive a warning. If they continue to spam, they will lose double the amount of Dirshe they gained by the spam post(s). If you’re not sure what spam is, I suggest you re-read the MnF forum rules as the guidelines are listed there.
2. Buying a pet. I remove your Dirshe automatically, so there is no way you can stop me from taking it away, muahaha.
3. Not logging on daily. Of course, you won't lose Dirshe if you don't log on, but you won't get your daily wage so you won't be earning as much as you could.
Fortune Cookies
Not currently in use, but I may implement it in the future.
I don’t mean the crunchy, sweet little cookies that you get individually wrapped at your local Chinese restaurant, I mean these;
What are they for?
They are virtual cookies, used to trade in for Item Cookies (which you collect to trade in for a pet) and works as a sort of rewards system for being a good, loyal member.
Here’s the explanation in detail…
For every 5 Fortune Cookies you earn, you can get a Cookie Item to collect. You will lose your points though, so it is up to you whether you want to keep collecting points or spend them on cookies. You do not have to spend your points, it’s your choice.
You may only earn one cookie each month using this method. So, for example if you collect 10 Fortune Cookies, you cannot spend all 10 points in one month to get 2 Cookie Items. You must spend a limit of 5 Fortune Cookies for 1 Cookie Item per month.
Fortune Cookies are also for determining how long you have been on the site and, in general how active and faithful a member you are. Having a lot of points means you are an experienced, faithful member, which is a good thing to be!
But, how do I get them?
There are several ways to gain a Fortune Cookie;
1. You gain 1 point every month, if you log in that is (it is also more likely you will get one if you post as well).
2. You can gain points for doing RAOK (random acts of kindness). You have to notify me, though...unfortunately I don't have Santa Paws powers (or do I???)
3. In mini events, as prizes.
You can also lose points by;
1. Breaking the rules. Depending on which and how severe, you will have a point(s) deducted as a penalty.
2. Spending them on Cookies. If you decide to spend 5 points in a month, you lose those points and cannot get a refund.
3. Not logging in at least once a month. Technically this does not make you lose a Fortune Cookie, but you don’t gain anything, so it’s sort of like losing a chance to get an FC.
