"Well then, I sssuggest you have sssomeone like George or Betsssy on your back. Maybe even Jeff." Said Sam with sort of a laugh.
"Ooh, Betsy's fun! She's very nice, too." Yipped Eileen, not being very careful with Sammy. She didn't need to, though. After all, Sammy usually had a very good grip on things.
"Indeed she isss!" Hissed Sam, and continued in what was more like a whisper. "She's kind of a neat freak, though."
"Sammy, are you sure she didn't hear you?" Whispered Eileen.
Sam chuckled. "Either way, I don't think she'd mind too much if she did."

Just then Diosca stopped suddenly. "Guys, I've got an idea! Do you think that if someone with wings could fly us high enough, we'd be able tp ride the rainbow to the very end? If it is a magical rainbow, maybe it's solid, like a HUGE slide!"

Chewwy turned her head to Diosca; "What if not, what if we fall, " she said, "I don't want to fall!"

"I agree with Chewwy." Eileen stated.
Sammy nodded. "He might get tired, too." She looked at the rainbow, and saw how far away it was. Was it just her, or were they very slowly getting closer and closer to the end of the rainbow? Sammy thought they were, for it barely--just barely--look bigger now than it did when they started the adventure. Even if they were still very far away from the end, Sammy grew in hope that they would make it.
Eileen, on the other hand, didn't seem to worry about what would happen if they didn't make it to the end. She was just happily playing with a monarch butterfly, conversing about what she thought was at the end of rainbow.

“We’re both in charge!” Misty replied to Sammy with a grin. Patrick nodded beside her, but his attention was focused elsewhere, as he scanned the field for any stray puppies that hadn’t heard Misty’s yip. He watched curiously as Leofrick flew up into the sky to take a peek of what was ahead, when he landed and gave everyone the news, Patrick nodded, wagging his tail contently.
“Awesome Leofrick!” Patrick yipped, stopping to listen to Sammy’s suggestion of talking while walking.
“Heehee, walki-talki!” Misty giggled, “But ok! That sound good!” She said, nodding as she stepped forward, towards the golden path again, and began to walk.
“So, from what I’ve gathered,” Misty said, looking over her shoulder to make sure everyone was listening. “The golden path leads in the direction of the end of the rainbow, as far as Leofric can see! However, the path is a little bit precarious, but there’s no point in avoiding it, as it goes in the direction of the rainbow’s end!”
Patrick nodded, “Right. Besides, it’s only dangerous if we lick it! And even if we do taste it, the effects only last for a little bit.” He said, “So there’s really nothing to worry about, I think if we follow it and just watch our step we’ll be ok.”
“And what about the ssscent? Chewwy is right in sssaying we should follow that.” George hissed, his tongue flicking.
“We are following the scent, the scent come from the rainbow! So if we follow the path, we’re also following the scent, and that means getting closer and closer to the end!” Misty yipped, splashing lightly in the golden syrup with a little giggle. George nodded, seeming to understand.
“So does anyone have anything to say?” Patrick asked, stopping just for a bit.
Betsy was too preoccupied listening to Sammy and Eileen to reply to Patrick, hissed. “I heard that Sssamy! But it’sss ok, a lady sssnake must be organized. I will ride on you Elrohir!”
“I am fine how I am, Sssam.” Jack said, grinning. Xavier and Jeff quickly slithered into Misty’s travel bag.
Misty turned to Diosca, her eyes wide with excitement. “He-ey, that’s not a bad idea Diosca!” But when Chewwy and Eileen threw in their opinion, she quickly deflated, shrugging in defeat. “That’s true…I guess we’ll just have to walk then.”

"Nope, no quessstionsss as far as I'm concccerned. 'Jussst follow the path and the ssscccent.'" Sammy said in reply to Patrick. Eileen simply shook her head.
Sammy had paused for a moment when she heard Betsy's comment. "Hehe..." She hissed, grinning. But stopped her giggling when she figured that River was asking a question, but Eileen had already
"In an open field, I should think. We're getting closer to the mountains." She said.
"Thessse are sssome thick woodsss." Sam commented. She and Eileen were now starting to get bored until Eileen had spoken.
"How about a story?" She yipped, memories of old Irish legends rushed to her head. "It might help us with the adventure! After all, not all legends might be wrong."
"Sssure! What do you pupsss think?" Said Sammy, swaying his head side to side.

(OOC: It's been a little confusing since some people have been posting thick trees and others have been posting meadows, so I tried to clear that up in my latest post by describing everything. The pups are in a place with grassy, rolling hills that are gradually getting higher and more rocky as they get closer to the mountains. Scattered here and there near the river and in the dips between the hills are clusters of thick trees. So there will be patches of trees, but mostly grassland since we're going higher into the mountains. The river does not follow the rainbow the whole way, and we'll be leaving it entirely in a little bit as the pups follow the path and the rainbow. As we get closer to the end, the hills get higher and steeper, with more rocks and cliffs cutting through them as we get closer to the mountains. I'll see if I can find another picture.)

(OOC: Imagine this sky in the valley pictured below it Remember that it's really rained the past week, and might rain again.) Leofric padded alongside the other pups, but avoided walking directly on the faintly glowing path. He still didn’t trust it, and he didn’t want any of the gold stuff on his paws anyway. He heard Diosca suggest flying up to the rainbow to see if they could slide to the end, and he laughed. “That would be fun Diosca! But Chewwy and Eileen are right, we don’t know if it’s solid, and I can’t carry everyone up there. It’s too high!” "How about a story?" Eileen’s green and orange tail whipped to and fro rapidly, and her pebble-black eyes sparkled. "It might help us with the adventure! After all, not all legends might be wrong." "Sssure!” Sammy hissed with a smile, her green head swaying from side to side. “What do you pup'sss think?" Leofric barked- a high, quick sound that almost hurt the ears, his tail high in the air. “A story, a story!” He bounded from side to side as he walked with the puppies, and sometimes he overstepped and dipped a paw into the path before jumping off of it again. “Nerida tells me lots of stories," he said, giggling at the glittering, glowing pawprints in the grass behind him. "Rainbows always go somewhere, or have something at the end of them. Sometimes they are giant rainbow snakes in the sky that bring rain. Sometimes they are roads for good puppies or spirits to travel on…” He looked up at the blood-red sky, and saw that the rainbow was glowing too, or maybe it was a trick of the light. "I wonder what we'll find..."

Patrick had been padding ahead quietly, sniffing the humid air and blinking at the rainbow. When Sammy and Eileen mentioned the word 'story', his brown and green eyes lit up and twinkled. He bounded to Leofric and gasped. "Did someone say...story?!" He yipped, bouncing excitedly. Patrick loved stories, especially telling them. So did Misty, but she was more for listening to them and randomly barking suggestions, even if that wasn't how it truly went. "I'm up for one!" The grey puppy yipped with a grin.
Betsy slithered up Elrohir's legs and onto his back, smiling. "Thank you, pup! Glad to know sssomeone underssstands!" She hissed, laughing slightly.

(OOC: Ah, ok. The picture helps. ) "Giant rainbow sssnakes that fly through the sssky?" Giggled Sammy. "Ooh, I know a good one! It doesn't have to do with rainbows, but I find it quite funny." Yipped Eileen. "Isss it the one with the wissse fish, or the talking ssseaweed?" Sam hissed. "The one with the wise fish, yes. It's kind of a short story, though." Said Eileen, shyly. "Tell on, then!" Sammy smiled. Eileen stopped to clear her throat, then continued walking. "Well, ok. The Salmon of Knowledge is a creature of Irish mythology. The salmon was sometimes called Fintan in Ancient times. Some stories say that Fintan was an immortal fish, but the most common stories say that he was just a regular fish." She said in her "poetic" voice. "But anyway, according to the story, the salmon ate nine magical hazelnuts from the nine trees that surrounded the Well of Wisdom, which gave him the wisdom of the world. What's more, whoever ate this fish would gain it's wisdom." "Eileen, what about Finn Ecesss' ssservant?" Sammy whispered in Eileen's ear. "Oh right! Finn Eces, the poet, had spent seven years trying to catch Fintan! When he did, he gave it to Fionn his servant, son of Cumhaill and advised him not to eat it. While Fionn was cooking the fish, he stuck his thumb in it to see if it was cooked, but a small drop of fat burned his finger, and he started sucking on it to ease the pain. Little did Fionn know that much of Fintan's wisdom was concentrated in that drop of fat! As he brought the fish to Finn Eces, he saw a look of wisdom in his eyes that he never noticed before, and asked him if he ate the fish. Fionn said no and told him what happened, and Finn Eces, noticing that he had gained the salmon's wisdom, gave him the rest of the fish to feast on! How about that?" "That wasss a nice ssstory." Said Sammy as he flickered his toung. "Doesss anypuppy elssse have a good one?"

"Nice story Eileen!" Diosca yipped. In the wide open space of the rolling hills, Diosca felt a sense of freedom, and the excitement of their adventure and the prospect of maybe discovering what was at the end of the rainbow made Diosca shiver in delight. "Hey, I've got a story!" she said suddenly, "It's about how rainbows came to be!" And then she began:
"Once upon a time the colors of the world started to argue; all of them said that they were the best, the most important and the most useful.
Green said: "Clearly I am the most important. I am the sign of life and of hope. I was chosen for grass, leaves, trees--without me, all animals would die. Look out over the countryside and you will see that I am in the majority."
Blue interrupted: "You only think about the Earth, but consider the sky and sea. It is the water that is the basis of life and drawn up by the clouds from the deep sea. The sky gives space and peace and serenity. Without my peace, you would all be nothing."
Yellow chuckled. "You are all so serious. I bring laughter, gaiety, and warmth to the world. The sun is yellow, the moon is yellow, the stars are yellow. Ever time you look at a sunflower, the whole world starts to smile. Without me, there would be no fun."
Orange started next to blow her temper. "I am the color of health and strength. I may be scarce but I am precious for I serve the needs of human life. I carry the most important vitamins. Think of carrots, pumpkins, oranges, mangos, and pawpaws. I don't hang around all the time, but when I fill the sky at sunrise or sunset, my beauty is so striking that no one gives another thought to any of you."
Red could stand it no longer. He shouted out: "I am the ruler of all of you. I am blood! Life's blood. I am the color of danger and of bravery. I am willing to fight for a cause. I bring fire to the blood! I am the color of passion and of love, the red rose, the poppy and the poinsettia. Without me, the earth would be as empty as the moon!"
Purple rose up to his full height. He was very tall and spoke with great pomp: "I am the color of royalty and power. Kings, chiefs, and bishops have always chosen me for I am a sign of authority and wisdom. People do not question me. They obey."
Finally, Indigo spoke, much more quietly than all the others but with just as much determination: "Think of me. I am the color of silence. You hardly notice me, but without me, you all become superficial. I represent thought and reflection, twilight and deep water. You need me for balance and contrast, for prayer and inner peace."
And so all the colors went on showing off and arguing, each convinced that they were the best colour. Soon, their shouting became louder and louder. Suddenly there was a startling flash of bright lightening! Thunder rolled and boomed! Rain started to pour down relentlessly. The colors crouched down in fear drawing close to one another for comfort.
In the middle of the uproar, Rain began to speak: "You foolish colors, fighting amongst yourselves, each trying to overpower the rest. Don't you know you were each made for a special purpose, unique and different? Join hands with one another and come to me."
Doing as they were told, the colors united and joined hands. The rain continued: "From now on, when it rains, each of you will stretch across the sky in a great bow of colors as a reminder that you can all live in peace. The rainbow is a sign of hope for tomorrow."
And so, whenever a good rain washes the world and a rainbow appears in the sky, let us remember to appreciate one another."

"Niccce ssstory!" Hissed Sammy. But Eileen was looking at the rainbow, thinking.
"You know," Said Eileen, trying to remember the quotes. "Most Leprechauns don't wear green, I've often heard. Most wear red, but that all depends on the part of Ireland you live in. The Northern Leprechaun wore a 'military red coat and white breeches, with a broad-brimmed, high, pointed hat, on which he would sometimes stand upside down'."
She paused for a moment. "The Lurigadawne of Tipperary wore an 'antique slashed jacket of red, with peaks all round and a jockey cap, also sporting a sword, which he uses as a magic wand'."
"The Luricawne of Kerry, however, is more simular to our modern day Leprechauns. He was a 'fat, pursy little fellow whose jolly round face rivals in redness the cut-a-way jacket he wears, that always has seven rows of seven buttons in each row'." Eileen smiled, and Sammy spoke up.
"I don't remember very many quotesss, but if I'm correct there is alssso the Cluricawne of Monaghan who wore 'a swallow-tailed evening coat of red with green vest, white breeches, black stockings, shiny shoes, and a long cone hat without a brim'." She said as Eileen just nodded.

Lady shook her head. "Nope, but I heard about this leprechaun who could cure you if you had a curse put on you! However this little leprechaun was very short tempered; he got angry over just about anything. He did cute little dances though x'D" Lady yipped. "My friend told me about it, she said she met him by a patch of four leaf clovers. Hey, maybe if we spot four-leaf clovers it's a sign we are close to the rainbow!" She barked, head on the ground.
Her eyes were focused on all the clovers. Two leaves, One leaved, three leaves.. No four leaved! She proceeded on, her eyes still searching for clovers.

Kalivo’s smile broadened at Sammy and Eileen’s remarks, delighted that someone was interested in his joke. “Irish,” he replied, wagging his navy blue tail in anticipation. He tried not to laugh as he recalled what he would say next.
